An Empirical Study on the Normal Students' Learning Attitude about Science

Abstract In China, the most famous four normal universities setting a special curriculum for a long time which combine general education and teacher education for normal students. In this study, we used the Colorado Learning Attitude about Science Survey (CLASS) to study the learning attitudes about science changes of the normal students in the curriculum structure from 8 CLASS dimensions. The results show that: (a) the learning attitudes about science of the normal students increase with the grade increasing; (b) in the curriculum structure, the general education has a little effect on improving the learning attitudes about science of the normal students, and they gain a lot after teacher education; (c)comparing with masters of education, the undergraduates education needs to strengthen in some aspects.
