Abstract The curriculum is the carrier of teaching activities and an important measure for cultivating national scientific and technological talents. STEAM education originated from the United States, as an interdisciplinary and integrated education mode to cultivate comprehensive talents in the future, aims at improving students' scientific and humanistic literacy, and emphasizes the cultivation of students' lifelong learning awareness, problem-solving ability, scientific inquiry ability and innovation ability. Therefore, designing a STEAM Curriculum with inquiry and engineering orientation has important guiding significance for China's basic education reform. This paper takes the "Manufacturing of Hydraulic Manipulator" as the project theme, and based on the 6E learning by design model, discusses the design of STEAM physics curriculum.
